From 1 May 2013, the West Coast Wilderness Railway will be managed by the Abt Railway Ministerial Corporation (ARMC). Passenger services have been suspended to allow for major capital improvements to ensure the railway continues to operate at a safe standard. The Abt Railway has become an important feature of the tourism industry and economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Government is working to have the railway operational for the 2013-14 tourist season.
The West Coast Wilderness Railway wishes to thank all our customers and supporters for their patronage of the tourism award winning restored railway. If you are interested in travelling on the Railway in the future or wish to receive news updates from the ARMC, please go to http://www.dier.tas.gov.au/abt_railway to register your interest.
