Pure Tasmania wins an Australian Tourism Award
The innovative Pure Tasmania brand continues to grow in strength, with its marketing campaign named the best in the country at the Australian Tourism Awards in Hobart tonight.

It is the second time Pure Tasmania has been recognised with the national Tourism Product Marketing award, first winning after its launch in 2005.

“When we launched the Pure Tasmania brand in 2005 we knew we had something special to offer – the brand recognition and what it represented was very strong,” Pure Tasmania Director of Tourism Bernard Dwyer said tonight.

“In the past five years we have adopted unique and innovative marketing strategies to cement that brand recognition and tonight we’ve been recognised as the best in the country.

“We are thrilled to have all of the hard work of our Group Sales and Marketing team recognised.”

Pure Tasmania represents the best in Tasmanian holiday accommodation and experiences – the internationally acclaimed Henry Jones Art Hotel in Hobart; Freycinet Lodge and the Wineglass to Wine Glass Signature Experience on the East Coast; Cradle Mountain Chateau and the Wilderness Gallery in the state’s heart; and Strahan Village, West Coast Wilderness Railway, Gordon River Cruises, Piners and Miners (all three experiences have won Australian Tourism Awards) and the newly launched Bonnet Island experience on the West Coast.

Pure Tasmania will launch the jewel in its crown in April, the Saffire luxury coastal sanctuary at Freycinet on the state’s East Coast. Distinct in its design, exclusive in its features and set apart by its approach to individually tailored experiences and service, Saffire’s approach is not constrained by traditional five-star ratings and standards, but instead sets a bold new direction for holidays and accommodation in Australia.

Pure Tasmania was also presented with the Australian Marketing Institute award for Best New Brand in 2006.
